Our first visit to a Burmese restaurant. It was a walk in on Saturday around 7.30 pm There was space outside . The restaurant decor is nice . Nice ambience and the staff were helpful in choosing the dishes . We went all vegetarian for a change and enjoyed every one of the dishes recommended. Loved the small plates - the tea salad is nice . They did say that they would not make any substitutions to the food .

Laphet in Covent Garden was a delightful find on a Saturday afternoon! The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed, not too busy, so we could fully enjoy a fantastic meal. We had a beautifully rich Braised Mutton Curry (Tho Tha Hnut), infused with cumin, tamarind, and daikon pickle, perfectly paired with their classic Paratha. To finish, we went for the Pandan & Coconut Creme Brulee, which was absolutely divine. The service was excellent, friendly, and really helpful in explaining the dishes and guiding us through the menu. A truly wonderful experience!

Lahpet serves authentic Burmese food in a modern, welcoming setting. The tea leaf salad is a must-try — fresh, flavorful, and unique. Other dishes like the mohinga and coconut noodles were also excellent, with bold and balanced flavors. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and service was prompt. The atmosphere was lively but not too noisy, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and experience. Highly recommended if you want to try something different in London!

My family and I decided to eat at Lahpet West End because another dining option in the area had too long of a line. We were definitely not disappointed. I have never tried Burmese cuisine before, but the flavors were out of this world. I had ordered the braised mutton curry and a side of steamed rice, which had a spicy, but very rich flavor while another member of my family ordered the fried bream, which she stated was perfectly tender to the bone and also had a great spicy sauce. I had ordered a cocktail which did not disappoint. I was neglect to take note of the name, band it appears it is not on their online menu, but it had rum and raspberry liquor in it as well as pineapple puree and lime juice.

Wasn't sure what to expect, since I haven't tried this cuisine before, but it was wonderful! The flavours were magical. Would recommend the ginger salad, the tea salad and the hake.

Got a reservation on the day for 6pm and we arrived early to be some of the first to dine. If you order before 6pm you can use the lunch menu which is great value. A starter and a main course for 17. The ginger salad starter was great, super crunchy and full of rich flavours. The fried tofu was ok but I would not order again. Our main courses were fantastic, my fish soup was super rich with freshly grilled squid. My husband enjoyed his chicken coconut noodle curry similar to a laksa. The standouts of the meal were my non alcoholic margarita super limey and not sweet. And the pandan creme brulee, a great roasted shell and super soft cream with a lovely caramel note from the pandan. Service was quick and we were finished with 3 courses in 45 minutes. We paid 60 for 3 courses (shared dessert) and a soft drink each.

Splendid and tasty meal that packed a PUNCH. Tamarind is a favourite flavour of mine so this went down a treat. The hake masala with an additional side of crisp roti to mop up the sauce was sensational. I only wish there was more of it and more of the flaky buttery fish that fell apart on a brief touch of my fork. Really atmospheric with the touch of tea lights. I was quite impressed. I would like to return but give how satisfied I was with my selection, I cannot imagine trying out the other dishes.
